Sneak Peek of Entryway Updates

I was feeling a little restless last week and I really wanted to do something about our entryway. It is the first place people enter in your home after all and ours tends to be dark and drab.

I’m loving stripes right now and they seem to be popping up everywhere. I thought this was the perfect place to incorporate them into our home since it smaller and would add a bold statement.

This is the beginning of a few more changes, for example, I’d love to get a new door on the entryway closet, do a few things INSIDE the closet and finish up changing out the trim plus, we have some plans to add some more fun stuff to the walls.

For now, here is a little peek into what I did get around to do last week. And don’t worry, I only have one more project to do in the living room then I can show you all the changes I’ve made in there!

Here is the before:

And here is the after!

So what exactly did I change?

1. I added stripes to the walls. The darker color is called Bittersweet Stem which is the color throughout our house. I added a lighter color which looks like white but is actually only two or three shades lighter then the Bittersweet Stem.

2. I finally had D’s cousin patch up the hole that was made behind the door from the dogs pushing open the door with their noses! Now we just need to get a door stop!

3. And finally, I painted an old table D had before I moved in and believe it or not, D was the one who suggested the blue. He asked if I’d paint it a brighter color since I tend to lean towards neutrals. This is called Watery and I absolutely love it! I from the living room into the entryway and added some decor I had lying around the house.

What do you think? I can’t wait to finish some of the other projects I have in mind!

Amanda, So worth the effort! How great that D suggested the table color – you are a team inside and outside. :-)

Hope the barn has room to add an “orangery”. Then you CAN have your citrus and avocado in pots to move them “in” during the coldest winter time and “out” for the spring summer and early fall.

    Cheers!
