Pinned It, Did It: Destressed Mirror and Picture Frame

I’m crossing another Pinterest project off my list and I’m pretty excited about it. I love crossing things off my lists, especially projects!

When I first saw these adorable frames that Sarah from The Winthrop Chronicles made using a couple old Ikea square mirrors, I immediately loved them. You can find Sarah’s on my Pinterest DIY Ideas board or on her blog, The Winthrop Chronicles.

This is a very easy, quick little project. I’ve been really into quick and easy projects because they are a fun way to add something new to your home without having to spend a lot of time or money.

On one of my trips to Micheal’s Art’s and Craft’s Store I picked a wood picture frame and a mirror.

Next, I taped the picture frame so that when I painted it there would be stripes and mirror with diagonal stripes.

I actually really like the colors Sarah used and had similar ones in my paint box. With a sponge brush I painted over the areas without the tape.

Once the paint was dry I used a piece of sandpaper and ruffed up the paint to get a distressed look.

Since one of the frames was a picture frame and I knew I was putting these in my guest room,  I typed up this cute little saying using Pic Monkey and printed it on photo paper.

I love the way they turned out and its a cheery way to add some color and love to our guest bedroom.
